SMA Affiliation

Shankar Mahadevan, the famous singer, composer and musician in India has started an online music school at shankarmahadevanacademy.com that allows students from all over the world to learn music at their own pace from qualified teachers.

Nikita Parikh had the pleasure of meeting Shankar Mahadevan in one of his tours to the Bay Area, and after being impressed with her work and style was offered to be an affiliate teacher for his academy. Students who wish to take an advantage of her classroom teaching as well as use the online tools to practice music at home can enroll in her SMA class. They are given access to all of their online music lessons and can get the certification from the academy after successful completion of each course.

There are many advantages in joining the SMA class, as the students not only can double their learning but get reinforcements of the concepts by studying from the online music. Once in a while, they also get the opportunity to interact with the maestro himself, and can get guidance from him and his teachers. On June 3, 2013 three of my students got selected to sing with him in the show when he performed in San Jose with his band.
